THRIFT SCORE!

Hit the Goodwill today while on a little study break. I can’t decide if it’s a good or bad thing that I study right next to there now. But today, it was definitely good. Check out that cute pink play kitchen! It needs a wee bit of shoring up, but it’s crazy cute.

Other scores - sweet spring dress by boutique-y label Sweet Potatoes, rawwrresome tiger, and a mighty wooden sword.

Left Behind is a gorgeous Kicky Pants dress in a 4T. I loved it, but it had a hole in the front. I knew I couldn’t do a decent enough sewing job to save the dress. You, however, might just have what it takes to grab this $40 dress for a song.

Check out this amazing Kashan wool rug Christina found at a yard sale in Normaltown for only $20 (versus $900 new). <sigh>

Yard Sale Scores!

Kelly’s yard sale was one of the coolest I’ve seen. If only I had a huge victorian house to furnish - then I would have really cleaned up. Instead, I got the little things - this vintage picture of two women outside a tent (fortune tellers is Kelly’s theory), a moon that is going to look perfect with this owl thing I’m making for Clementine, and a vintage ABC book. I also got a great space heater, but that’s not so much fun to look at.

Left Behind
I would show you pictures of the beautiful Victorian couches and beds and vanities that were still there when I left, but Kelly sold everything that day. She had to cancel day two of the yard sale. It was that good of a sale.

A good day at the Goodwill. No amazing scores, but some nice solid shopping.

Some pieces just make me buy ahead. That Ralph Lauren seersucker dress at the top will sit in a bin for two more years, but that’s okay. I love it. And in two years I bet I’m going to be happy to have a $3 Easter dress for the girls.

Next is a sweet soft embroidered pink cotton shift. I can’t tell which one of the girls this will fit, but one of them will be happy to sport this at some point during our hot summer.

A find for me! This looks like the type of skirt I used to buy every summer. So happy to have a new one.

There are always good Gymboree finds at the Goodwill. Here, a party dress for Daisy and a shirt for Clementine.

This satiny little Indian dress looks like it might make the perfect Mulan costume. Mulan is the latest favorite, and I have to say, I like a princess with a sword. This one will be perfect with the silver scabbard I scored the other day.

This little Corolle doll with the pink hair just grabbed me. Finally, a Goodwill doll I like.

Left Behind

These made it to the cart, but not to the register. A sweet little Marimekko shirt (too small for little C). A wooden desk begging for a makeover. A new with tags Lilly Pulitzer skirt. I had visions of selling this on Ebay for a big profit, but I’d probably never actually get around to doing it. Finally, a cut class, not frogs shirt. I was one of those who liked dissecting frogs, but the shirt was still pretty cool. All these treasures left behind for you.
